I will tell you, just from the Audi, DO NOT. My dad has an ‘01 2.8 that sat for 6 years in the garage until I recently revived and detailed it. They’re a massive pain in the ass to work on.

“The IMS bearing was already replaced, so you do not have to worry about the engine exploding.”

That made me laugh out loud. You gotta appreciate the honesty...

So many cheap German cars that are unreliable ... so few dollars. Until they break.

I’ve been a mechanic for 35+ years. Worked on all kinds. My wife has a 99 A4 wagon. The WORST car I have ever worked on. Period. I’d rather work on a French or Italian car. And no-I’m not a German car hater. I just got rid of my MkII Jetta (410k miles!) and picked up a Benz.

Great cars when they’re working, but when they’re not, you’d rather die that fix it haha
